Detrick Garrett, age 29, was fatally shot on July 7, 2010, in the Uptown neighborhood on Chicago's North Side. The incident occurred around 1:26 a.m. in the area of North Clarendon Avenue. According to reports, Garrett was shot multiple times, and when officers arrived on the scene, they found him critically injured. He was rushed to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m.
