Cornelio Farfan, a 17-year-old resident of Chicago, was fatally shot on December 5, 2010. The incident took place in the Little Village neighborhood, an area on Chicago's Southwest Side that has often struggled with gang violence and related crimes. Cornelio was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the vicinity, which is known to be vulnerable to frequent altercations involving firearms. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Cornelio succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
