Tytus C. Mitchell, age 23, was fatally shot on December 13, 2010, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred on the South Side of the city, a region known for high incidents of gun violence at the time. Tytus was reportedly shot in the Englewood neighborhood, which had experienced elevated levels of violent crime in the years leading up to his death. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite emergency response efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
