Timothy Collins, a 19-year-old from Chicago, was tragically killed on April 12, 2011. His death added to the grim statistics of that year, during which the city of Chicago struggled with a high incidence of violent crime. Data from 2011 shows that many of the homicides in Chicago were concentrated in neighborhoods plagued by gang activity and socio-economic challenges.
