In the summer of 2017, a vibrant 31-year-old woman named Jade Jones, also known as Jade Thomas, lost her life in a violent encounter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On the afternoon of June 11th, police responded to a shooting at a residence south of Pine and North Delaware. Upon arrival, they discovered Jones with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was rushed to St.
John Medical Center but tragically succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation quickly centered on Ashley Good, who was identified as a person of interest. Tulsa Police began a search for Good, cautioning the public that she should be considered armed and dangerous. For ten days, Good managed to evade capture, moving between various locations to avoid law enforcement. During this time, she was described as one of Tulsa's most wanted fugitives.
The manhunt came to an end on the morning of June 21st when police received a tip that Good was at a home on North Utica Avenue. Officers surrounded the residence, and Good surrendered without further incident. At the time of her arrest, she was found in possession of a firearm and a bulletproof vest inside a stolen car. Good was subsequently charged with the first-degree murder of Jade Jones.
During the legal proceedings, Ashley Good claimed that she had acted in self-defense. After a trial, the jury found her guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter. The court sentenced Good to nine years in prison for her role in the death of Jade Jones.
