Cornell Ferguson, a 16-year-old resident of Chicago, was fatally shot on August 2, 2012, in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side. The shooting occurred in the afternoon around 12:50 p.m., when three 16-year-old boys, including Cornell, were attacked while walking in the 600 block of North Avers Avenue.
