Antwan T. James, a 46-year-old Black man, was shot on the night of July 21, 2014, in Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood and died from his injuries on August 3, 2014. According to contemporaneous reports, he was in an alley in the 1200 block of West 72nd Place around 9 p.m. when someone approached and opened fire, striking him in the chest, hip, arm, and leg.
