Gabriel Meneses, a 31-year-old male, was fatally shot in the early hours of September 10, 2014, in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Meneses was driving in the 5200 block of West Waveland Avenue around 1 a.m. when a blue SUV pulled up alongside his vehicle. Someone inside the SUV fired multiple shots, striking Meneses in the back. His vehicle then collided with a parked car before coming to a stop. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene at 1:20 a.m.
