On June 17, 1980, Simon Amaro, a 41-year-old man, met a tragic end in Denver, Colorado. The incident occurred after Amaro had been enjoying drinks with fellow patrons at Richie's Bar, located near the intersection of West 26th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. Shortly after the bar closed, Amaro left and was confronted by unknown assailants near his vehicle, which was parked next to the bar. During this altercation, Simon Amaro was shot to death.
