Ronnie Shaw, aged 17, was fatally shot on May 25, 2015, in Chicago, Illinois. The shooting occurred in the Austin neighborhood, specifically near the northeast corner of Erie and Lavergne. According to reports, Shaw was chased by an assailant who shot him several times. Even after Shaw fell to the ground, the assailant continued firing at close range. Emergency services responded, and Shaw was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later.
