On the first day of 2019, the life of Emuel Molin, a 32-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in what became Boston's first homicide of the year. In the early morning hours of January 1st, at approximately 3:05 a.m., police responded to a call for a person shot at 19 Johnston Road in Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers found Molin suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Molin, a resident of Taunton, was reportedly at a New Year's Eve party when the shooting occurred. A witness at the scene stated that he had been shot in the chest. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later confirmed that the manner of his death was a homicide. Molin, born on September 8, 1986, was a father of two who had graduated from South Boston High School and attended the Berklee College of Music. He was described as having a loving, giving, and humble personality, with a passion for fashion, music, and children.
Despite the passage of time, the case of Emuel Molin's death remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Boston Police Department continues to investigate the homicide and has publicly asked for anyone with information to come forward. His death is listed among the city's unsolved homicides for 2019.
