On the first day of 2019, the life of Emuel Molin, a 32-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in what became Boston's first homicide of the year. In the early morning hours of January 1st, at approximately 3:05 a.m., police responded to a call for a person shot at 19 Johnston Road in Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers found Molin suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
