Marcus Cox, aged 27, was fatally shot on September 27, 2015, in the Longwood Manor neighborhood of Chicago's South Side. He was standing outside on the 9600 block of South Morgan Avenue at around 4:20 a.m. when he was shot multiple times, including in the abdomen and ankle. He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
