On the morning of July 14, 1998, a person searching for cans and bottles along a path in Powers Marine Park near SW Macadam Ave in Portland, Oregon, made a grim discovery. A trail of blood on the path led to the discarded body of a woman. The individual immediately contacted the police, who responded to the scene and confirmed the woman was deceased. An autopsy later revealed that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
