On June 2, 2022, a tragic incident occurred at Cornerstone Church in Ames, Iowa, resulting in the deaths of two young women, Eden Mariah Montang and Vivian Renee Flores. The perpetrator of this targeted act of violence was Johnathan Lee Whitlatch, a 33-year-old sergeant in the Iowa National Guard.
