Arian Smith, a 32-year-old father of three, was shot and killed on September 27, 2016, inside his home on Chicago's Southwest Side in the Ashburn neighborhood. Smith was found in the kitchen of his residence with a gunshot wound to his head. Authorities noted that there were no signs of forced entry, leading investigators to believe the assailant might have been known to the victim.
