In the early hours of a Friday morning in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the life of Diamond Kyriek McDuffy, a 29-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On November 3, 2022, police responded to a call of a shooting in the 200 block of W. Forrest Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered McDuffy deceased inside the residence from apparent gunshot wounds.
Born on December 9, 1992, in Jonesboro, Diamond was known for his humor and fun-loving character.
He had a passion for football, a sport that instilled in him discipline and leadership. He was a father and was remembered as a man who loved God and his family, always willing to help anyone in need. His smile was described as contagious, and he was a cherished member of his community.
The Jonesboro Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division immediately began a homicide investigation. Through their efforts, they identified 21-year-old Jataylon McClellan Jones as the suspect in the fatal shooting. An arrest warrant was issued for Jones on the morning of Friday, November 4, 2022.
Later that same afternoon, the U.S. Marshals East Arkansas Fugitive Task Force, working in conjunction with Jonesboro police officers, located Jones in Parkin, Arkansas.
