Jose A. Nieves, aged 38, was killed on January 2, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. He was shot by Lowell Houser, an off-duty Chicago Police officer, during an altercation. The incident took place on the Northwest Side of Chicago, with Houser claiming self-defense. However, following a criminal investigation, Houser was charged with murder.
