Eddie Wade, aged 62, was fatally shot on February 14, 2017, in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. His death was part of a particularly violent Valentine's Day, which saw multiple shootings across the city. Wade was among the victims who were targeted in what became known as one of the more violent days that year, with several incidents of gun violence contributing to the grim statistics. His death marked the 100th homicide of the year in Chicago, occurring just 56 days into 2017.
