Kyra Young, a 17-year-old from Chicago, was tragically killed on June 7, 2017, in a case of gun violence that is all too common in the city. Kyra was shot while with a group of people on the Far South Side of Chicago. The attack appeared to be a drive-by shooting, with gunfire coming from a passing vehicle. Reports indicated that she was standing outside when the incident occurred. Despite prompt emergency response efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
