Deshawn Martin, a 13-year-old boy, was tragically shot and killed on June 26, 2017, in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side of Chicago. The shooting was part of a particularly violent day across the city, which saw multiple shooting incidents resulting in several fatalities and injuries. On that day, four people were killed, including Deshawn, and eleven others were wounded in shootings spread across different areas of Chicago.
