Death by Force

Theotis Luckett, a 16-year-old, was fatally shot on August 26, 2017, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago. The shooting occurred in the 3600 block of West Ohio Street, and Luckett was struck in the back. Despite attempts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The neighborhood where Luckett was killed has faced ongoing struggles with gang-related violence and poverty, factors that have historically contributed to the high crime rates in the area.
