Oscar Carter, aged 30, was fatally shot on October 8, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the Austin neighborhood, a part of Chicago that has been heavily affected by violence over recent years. Carter was the victim of a drive-by shooting; he was struck by bullets fired from a passing vehicle. Despite emergency response efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
