Maurice Robinson, aged 49, was shot and killed on November 20, 2017, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago. His death added to the ongoing wave of gun violence that has affected many Chicago neighborhoods, particularly those on the West and South Sides. The shooting took place in an area that has been heavily impacted by gang activity and poverty, where gun violence continues to be a persistent threat to residents.
