In the summer of 2023, the life of Antonio Bethea, a Black/African American man from Marion, South Carolina, was tragically cut short in an act of domestic violence. On June 30th, Bethea was shot and killed, leading to the arrest of his wife, Connie Denise Bethea. The incident sent ripples of shock through the local community, which was largely unaware of any serious conflict within the couple's relationship.
