On a Saturday morning in Magee, Mississippi, the life of 20-year-old Mitchell Ja'Davious Page-Crosby was tragically cut short. On January 13, 2024, at around 10:00 a.m., a call was made to the Magee Police Department dispatch reporting a shooting at the SASE apartments on Raleigh Drive. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Page deceased from an apparent single gunshot wound.
As the investigation into the circumstances of his death began, it was determined that a 14-year-old
male juvenile had been with Page at the time of the shooting. The investigation revealed that the two had been playing with a gun when it accidentally discharged, fatally wounding Page.
Following the initial investigation by the Magee Police Department, the case was set to be turned over to the district attorney's office for further review. No arrests were publicly announced in the immediate aftermath, with the incident being characterized as a tragic accident. Memorial services for Mitchell Page were scheduled for early February 2024.
