In the quiet, early morning hours of Friday, September 13, 2024, the small town of Summit, Mississippi, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jeremiah Lloyd. An African American male, Lloyd was at an apartment complex located at 900 Cherry Street when gunfire erupted at approximately 2 a.m. The shooting was described by Summit's police chief, Alex Miller, as a drive-by.
