46-year-old Pedro Julio Orosa came to the United States from Cuba during the Mariel boat lift in 1980. A few months after arriving in Florida he decided to move from West Palm Beach to Naples so he could be closer to people he knew from his home town in Cuba.
On May 12, 1981, friends from West Palm Beach gave Orosa a ride to a house on Van Buren Avenue in East Naples. Orosa had $700 to $1,000 cash with him. Witnesses told detectives on the afternoon of May 12th, Orosa and three of his Cuban f ...
