Treva Gernannt, age 88, was killed on December 1, 1994, in Gainesville, Florida. The tragedy occurred when a fire broke out at her home located on SE 3rd Avenue. Firefighters discovered both Gernannt and her 66-year-old daughter, Emily Wallace, deceased inside the burning house. Initial investigations suggested the fire may have been used to cover up a double homicide, as both women were found with signs of foul play.
