The van was traveling to Miami with nine people on board. Somewhere along SR 29, the van's driver stopped and picked up four additional men who were along the roadway.
Just north of I-75, one of the new passengers pretended to be sick, and the driver pulled over. That's when the four men pulled out guns and robbed the other passengers of money and valuables. They shot the victim, another passenger, and the van's driver.
