Tiphne Hollis, a 16-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, was shot and killed on March 20, 2010. She was in a car with four other young women when they became lost in an unfamiliar neighborhood on the westside of Jacksonville. It was at the intersection of Calvin and Belfort Streets that shots were fired at the car, ultimately killing Tiphne. Despite organized monthly walks and advocacy efforts by her family and friends, no suspects have been identified, and her murder remains unsolved.
In memory of Tiphne, her family has founded initiatives including a foundation, a Christian learning academy, annual fashion shows, and toy drives to raise awareness and honor her life. These efforts aim to keep her memory alive and push for justice. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office continues to appeal for public help, urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving this tragic case.
