On April 9, 2010, Yahnya Ware, a 7-year-old girl, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. while Yahnya was a passenger in a car driving near Northeast Miami Place and 64th Terrace. Shots were fired from another vehicle, striking Yahnya. Despite efforts from paramedics who arrived on the scene, she succumbed to her injuries.
