On April 9, 2010, Yahnya Ware, a 7-year-old girl, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. while Yahnya was a passenger in a car driving near Northeast Miami Place and 64th Terrace. Shots were fired from another vehicle, striking Yahnya. Despite efforts from paramedics who arrived on the scene, she succumbed to her injuries.
The Miami Police Department continues to investigate the case and has asked for the public's help to identify the shooter. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could assist in solving this senseless act of violence.
