In the quiet community of Science Hill, Kentucky, a life was tragically cut short on a late Saturday night in January. Jason Hislope, a 19-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally wounded in a shooting incident that unfolded on January 6, 2024. The event, which took place at a residence on Heaton Ford Road, sent shockwaves through the Pulaski County community.
Law enforcement responded to reports of the shooting at approximately 11:50 p.m.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Hislope with a critical gunshot wound. They immediately administered CPR until emergency medical services arrived and transported him to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Despite the urgent medical attention, Jason Hislope succumbed to his injuries and passed away. His obituary, however, lists his date of death as Sunday, January 7, 2024.
The investigation into the fatal shooting was promptly taken over by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. According to reports, the shooting occurred during a dispute with another man, identified as Jeremy Grundy. While Grundy was identified as the shooter, it remained unclear in the immediate aftermath whether he would face charges in connection with Hislope's death.
