In the quiet community of Sharpsburg, Georgia, the life of 31-year-old Parker Bethel Anderson was tragically cut short on June 29, 2024. A male native of nearby Newnan, Anderson was a man whose 31 years were characterized by a deep love for life and a commitment to serving his country. His journey had taken him into the esteemed ranks of the United States Navy, where he served honorably as a Petty Officer Second Class, a member of the elite community aboard nuclear submarines and as a navy
diver.
The circumstances of his death unfolded in what appears to have been a violent outburst that also claimed the lives of two other individuals, Joshua D. Wimmer and Tina Elaine Sasser. The incident drew the attention of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office, who responded to calls of gunshots in the area. Upon their arrival, a grim scene awaited them.
The investigation into the multiple deaths pointed towards a murder-suicide. The suspected shooter was identified as Brandon D. Suckow. After the initial discovery of the victims, Suckow reportedly retreated into a residence. As law enforcement secured the area, a final gunshot was heard from within the home. The Coweta County SWAT team was deployed, and upon entering the residence, they found Suckow deceased from what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In the wake of this tragedy, those who knew Parker Anderson were left to remember a man with a carefree and fun-loving nature. His passion for the outdoors was evident in an eight-month journey he had recently completed, exploring the natural beauty of numerous National Parks across the United States. His friends and family recall a beautiful soul who approached life with a sense of wonder and joy, a spirit that will be deeply missed. A joint Celebration of Life service was held for both Parker Anderson and Joshua Wimmer.
