On May 31, 2021, Gabriel Casper, a 20-year-old from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was fatally shot in an incident that stemmed from a failed drug transaction. Casper had arranged to meet 20-year-old Matthew James Holmberg to purchase $300 worth of pills. However, the transaction went awry, leading to a confrontation.
