On April 7, 2024, Vermont State Police responded to a report of a deceased male in his vehicle on Ring Road, near the intersection of Bear Creek Lane in Waterbury, VT. The man was identified as 55-year-old Robert Champine of Waterbury.

Initial investigations and interviews suggested that Champine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Therefore, this death is not considered a homicide and is not being treated as suspicious.
