On March 19, 2016, a drive-by shooting in Wetumpka, Alabama, resulted in the deaths of 48-year-old Daryl Hunt and 23-year-old Deosha Jackson. The incident also left Roderick Jones and Jacoreian Jennings critically injured. Authorities arrested Marcus Edwards in connection with the shooting; he was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of first-degree assault. At the time, Edwards was held in the Elmore County Jail without bond.
