On September 8, 2015, in the remote village of Platinum, Alaska, 46-year-old Steven Tugatuk Sr. was found deceased in his home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Responding to the incident, Alaska State Troopers from Bethel reported no signs of foul play and initiated an investigation to confirm the circumstances surrounding his death.
