On June 4, 1963, Linda Edwards, aged 17, and her fiancé, Robert Domingos, were brutally murdered on a secluded stretch of Gaviota Beach in Santa Barbara County, California. The two high school seniors had decided to celebrate their "senior ditch day" by spending the afternoon together near the ocean. At some point during their time at the beach, they were approached by an armed assailant carrying a .22 caliber firearm, possibly a rifle.
