On May 6, 2013, Evans Butler, 25, was fatally shot in his apartment at the Cabo San Lucas Apartment complex, located at 10910 Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas. According to Houston Police, the suspect kicked in the front door, demanded money, and shot Butler when he did not comply. The suspect, described as a tall black male, fled the scene in an unknown direction.
