On January 18, 2014, at approximately 1:55 a.m., 49-year-old Gerraldo Carlyle, a Black male, was fatally shot outside the Turning Point Club located at 3352 Old Spanish Trail in Houston, Texas. A large group had gathered outside the club when an altercation erupted, leading one individual to draw a firearm and begin shooting. Carlyle was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. Another person sustained injuries during the incident but was treated and subsequently released from a local hospital.
