On December 27, 2015, 43-year-old Soccorro Juana Taylor was killed in Fort Worth, Texas. Her death was the result of a violent crime that involved her then-boyfriend, Jake Abel. According to court records, Abel was found guilty of her murder in early 2018 and sentenced to life in prison. The jury reached their decision in just ten minutes after hearing the evidence against him, which included the fact that Abel had killed Soccorro and buried her body in a shallow grave near Boyd, Texas.
