On August 29, 2016, Charles Alvarez, a 34-year-old Hispanic male from Houston, Texas, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City, where a 16-year-old male witness to several gang-related murders was also killed. Investigations by the Missouri City and Houston Police Departments identified Douglas Alexander Herrera-Hernandez, a 20-year-old Hispanic male, as a suspect in these murders.
