Leslie "Lee" Byford, aged 37, was killed on January 5, 2013, in Knoxville, Tennessee. His death occurred as he was leaving his home on the night of his birthday. Byford had briefly returned to his residence in East Knoxville, where he was planning to meet friends. As he returned to his SUV, a masked gunman emerged from behind a privacy fence.
