In the early morning hours of May 1, 2013, the life of 50-year-old George Hooks was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 5:25 a.m. and discovered Mr. Hooks lying in the street at 1498 Gausco. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, and investigators from the Memphis Police Department launched a homicide investigation. A ...
