Richard Dunham, a 48-year-old man, was the victim of a homicide on September 15, 1997, in Bloomington, California. He was found near the I-10 Freeway, where he was well known as a transient who often panhandled at the freeway's on and off ramps. Locally, he was known by the nickname "Freeway Richard." Dunham's lifestyle made him a familiar face to the local community, but unfortunately, it also made him vulnerable.
