Amar Stanley, a 63-year-old Philadelphia resident, was fatally shot on August 13, 2012. Amar, who was well-known in the community as a "bootjack" for the Philadelphia Daily News, sold newspapers at 23rd and West Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia. He was shot and killed at his home, which was only a few doors away from where he sold newspapers. The details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and there have not been any reports of arrests in connection with his homicide.
