On May 22, 1966, Loren Bollenger, a 40-year-old woman, was found dead from a gunshot wound in her office in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Bollenger, who worked as a researcher specializing in rocket propulsion, had recently resigned from her post at Ohio State University and was in the process of moving to a new consulting office. She was reportedly found in a storage area, and it appeared that she was attacked unexpectedly.
