On October 6, 1981, Ruth McNeil, aged 78, was tragically murdered in her home at 2071 Baxterly Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio. She was discovered lying on the floor of her living room, and it was evident that there had been a forced entry into her residence. Ruth McNeil lived alone, and investigators noted that there were signs that the perpetrator broke into the home, suggesting a struggle had taken place.
