On September 12, 2004, Gerardo Mejia-Diaz, aged 25, was one of ten victims who perished in a tragic fire at the Lincoln Park West Apartments in Columbus, Ohio. The fire, which erupted in the early morning hours, was later ruled an arson, leaving investigators to suspect foul play.
