On December 9, 2006, Jennifer Burgette, aged 30, and her fiancé Curtis Francis were found murdered in their home on Hopper Road in Piketon, Ohio. Both were shot while they slept, and their deaths have since been known as the “Hopper Road double murder.” The Pike County Sheriff's Office investigated extensively, following numerous leads, but the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made.
